Introducing Lakrids by Johan Bulow – a comprehensive range of licorice and licorice flavoured products from powder for your porridge to licorice syrup for your ice cream.

These products are due to be available in Australia soon. The staff on the exhibition stand were very excited to meet someone from Australia as Johan had apparently learned how to make licorice from the organic producers in Wagga Wagga NSW.

Rather than product info they handed out postcards with recipes printed on them. A useful reminder of the products and how to use them.

Here is the recipe for Licorice Balls – a replacement for
Rum Balls

100g marzipan
5-8 pieces of your favourite licorice
little lemon juice
150g plain chocolate
icing sugar

Mix marzipan, licorice and lemon juice, shape into balls and refrigerate for about 30 minutes until firm.
Melt the chocolate, dip balls to coat and dust with icing sugar while chocolate is still moist.

Try substituting white chocolate and sprinkles as well.
