Milkshakes (these days labelled Milko Chews) are a vanilla flavoured toffee in a distinctive blue and red wrapper. I have always been a fan – others could have their Fantales and Sherbies, I always went for the Milkshakes. Made by Allens, they are generally available in supermarkets in a mixed bag with small versions of Redskins and Sherbies.
You will get 12 Milko Chews in 100g. They contain milk, sugar, glucose syrup, sugar, vegetable oil, butter, flavour. They are suitable for nut free dietary constraints/choices.
Milkshakes are no longer available from the manufacturer in single flavour packs. They are only available in mixed packs with Redskins and Fantales.
In New Zealand, Pascall make a similar lolly that is still called a Milkshake. It is the dame basic chewy vanilla toffee and comes in a pink and white wrapper.
Some “milky” jokes:
Q: How do you make a milkshake?
A: Give a cow a pogo stick.
Q: Where does a cow stop to drink?
A: The milky way!
Q: What does an invisible man drink?
A: Evaporated milk!
Q: What goes oo ooo oooo?
A: A cow with no lips.
